Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is,...
In the scripture above, Mose uses the word "day". He was quite capable of using the word season or year or the phrase "a thousand years", but he wrote "day" because that is what he meant.
Do not allow the intellectuals (so-called) to persuade you to doubt God's word. Time is God's creation, and He created everything that is created, in six days - just like He tells us in His word.
The question may come up in your mind, How long has it been since that sixth day of creation?
There is a way to determine from the word of God that by the time Jacob-Isreal was born, a few thousand years had passed, but definitely NOT more than this. If you would like to do these calculations, you may use the very clear and explicit texts in Genesis chapter 5 and in Genesis chapter 11 which give the ages which people were when they begat the next generation, and the total number of years that they lived. By working linearly, you may very methodically calculate how many years had passed from the time Adam was created up to any recorded generation. After the birth of Jacob, there is no such easy method, but one can still bracket the number of years up to the time of Christ.
You may believe either the word of God, or you may believe those who claim the earth is billions of years old; but you cannot believe them both - they are at extreme odds.
Be very careful not to offend Jesus' little ones or to cause them to doubt the word of God by teaching things which contradict scripture.
Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
My advice to you is have no part in perpetuating the false teachings of science so-called.
